Vivo IPL Live Score, DD vs RR: Delhi Host Rajasthan In Must-Win Clash

Vivo IPL Delhi Daredevils vs Rajasthan Royals Live Score: Delhi play Rajasthan in a virtual knock-out game

Faced with an imminent danger of losing the competition to the IPL play-offs, bottom-placed DD now face an uphill task of treating each game as an effective knock-out as they get ready to host an inconsistent RR on Wednesday. After the resignation of Gautam Gambhir, the struggling DD, under new Captain Shreyas Iyer received a ray of expect when he blasted a 40-ball 93 to power Delhi to a 55-run win over KKR at the Ferozshah Kotla. But Monday's 13-run loss to Chennai Super Kings in Pune almost dashed all hopes of a comeback as Delhi succumbed to their sixth 6th loss in 8th  games and now need to win all their remaining matches to rescue any hopes of staying busy in the tournament.

Vivo IPL 2018 Live updates of DD vs RR match, straight from Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi

18:36 IST: Trivia! RR have won the last 7 head-to-head encounters between the two sides. They have also won the last three meetings at this location after losing their first three.

In the batting responsibility, Iyer and stumper Rishabh Pant have done the bulk of the scoring for Delhi, amassing 306 and 257 runs in that order so far and the onus would be on the duo to lead the batting part on Wednesday. DD will also hope for a repeat of the brilliant opening platform, they got alongside KKR from young Prithvi Shaw and Colin Munro besides expecting Australian power-hitter Glenn Maxwell for various fireworks lower down the order.
On the other hand, RR have experienced a topsy-turvy battle and find themselves on fifth in the table with 6 points from 7 matches.

With the IPL, entering its business end, skipper Ajinkya Rahane will expect his team to get their act together and aim for stability.

In their last match, Rajasthan Royals fell short of Sunrisers Hyderabad's modest target of 152 by 11 runs. It was even with Rahane scoring a 65 and young Snaju Samson hitting a 40 as they did not get support from last batsmen.

Rahane and Samson have been their finest batsmen this season but an incompatible run of Ben Stokes and Jos Butler has affected their performance this time.

With the bowlers, young seamer Jofra Archer have done well to claim 6 wickets in the 2 matches that he has played so far whereas this IPL costliest buy Jaydev Unadkat have also been amongst the wickets.

But Rajasthan Royals main concern will be the form of their spinners -- Shreyas Gopal and K. Gowtham -- who have so far failed to follow in pairs.
